We
built lefty's based on the small mom & pop shops we grew up with in
and around Chicago - vividly remembering our bikes rides or walks to the
corner as kids to grab a slice or a dog (if Dad was along . . . a beef
sandwich) and the happy feelings that came with it. Those mouth-watering
& comforting flavors have remained with us all of the years spent
away from Chicago. Thankfully, there was a day when we became tired of
complaining about missing the pizza of our youth and began to spend hours
in our little kitchens trying to figure out the secrets of the pies haunting
our memories. These memories come from so many unique & wonderful
Chicagoland pizzerias that we cannot begin to compare what we are creating
with any one particular spot. What we can claim is that we strive to bring
you the best Chicago-style pizza possible while living in our beautiful
San Diego. Fortunately, we felt obliged to offer the windy city's other
infamous street treats with our expanded menu. We hope you find the time
to pay us a visit.
the
thin crust has a thick, zesty sauce and a crispy crust . . . we cut it
in squares for easy handling
the
deep dish crust is made to rise a little more and we have added cornmeal
to the dough for added flavor . . . a chunky tomato sauce tops off this
pie
the
stuffed pizza is a true "pie" - three pounds of pure wisconsin
mozzerella, surrounded by two layers of crust & topped with our zesty
tomato sauce
(as our space is limited and our ingredients fresh, we
do run out of dough on busy nights . . .
we know not how to rectify this lack of space & apologize in advance
should this ever disappoint you)
